A custom lead qualification quiz that recommends the right plan from each visitor's answers, then captures them in a CRM dashboard.
Deliverables

- Answer-based matching to existing coaching plans
- Personalised results — BMI, health risks and a calorie target
- Two conversion paths — buy the plan or book a call
- CRM dashboard showing every lead and their quiz answers

The outcome
Visitors get a clear plan recommendation, and the leads arrive with their goals and starting point already captured.
The full story
Project overview
This was the third project I built for Rasan Fitness, connecting the website and Facebook advertising funnel with a custom lead qualification tool.
The main website explained the coaching and handled payments. The landing page and Facebook ads brought people into the funnel. The missing piece was helping visitors decide which coaching plan was right for them.
I built a custom quiz that asks about a visitor’s goals, lifestyle and starting point, then recommends the most suitable coaching plan.
The challenge
People arriving from Facebook ads were interested in improving their fitness, but many weren’t sure which coaching plan they needed.
A standard contact form didn’t solve the problem. It asked visitors for their details without giving them anything useful in return, while a generic quiz couldn’t match their answers to Rasan’s specific coaching plans.
The goal was to create something that helped visitors make a decision while also qualifying them as a lead.
My approach
I designed the quiz as part of the wider sales funnel rather than as a standalone form.
Visitors answer questions about their goals, schedule, eating habits and current situation. Their answers are then matched against Rasan’s existing coaching plans.
The results are personalised rather than generic. Someone finishing the quiz sees their own BMI scored on a scale, an explanation of what that means for them, the specific health risks worth addressing, and a daily calorie target calculated from their answers — before they ever see a price.
That ordering is deliberate. By the time the recommended plan appears, the visitor has already received something genuinely useful, so the plan reads as the next step in a conversation rather than a pitch.
At the end, they can either purchase the recommended plan immediately or book a call with Rasan.
Their answers are also captured in a CRM dashboard, giving Rasan useful context before he speaks with a potential client.
Key decisions
| Decision | Why it mattered |
|---|---|
| Custom Next.js quiz app | The quiz needed custom matching logic and multiple outcomes, making a purpose-built application more flexible than a generic quiz plugin. |
| Recommend a real coaching plan | Visitors receive a specific, priced recommendation rather than generic fitness advice, giving them a clear next step. |
| Give real value before the price | The results screen returns a BMI score, the health risks behind it and a calorie target — worth having on its own. Someone who has already been given something useful is far more receptive to what comes next. |
| Two ways to finish | Visitors who are ready can purchase immediately, while those who need help can book a call. |
| CRM dashboard | Every lead is stored with their quiz answers, giving Rasan useful context for follow-up instead of just a name and phone number. |
| Built for the advertising funnel | The quiz acts as the bridge between Facebook ad traffic and the coaching offer, helping turn interested visitors into qualified leads. |
What I built
- Custom multi-step quiz application built with Next.js
- Questions covering fitness goals, lifestyle, diet and starting point
- Answer-based matching logic for Rasan’s existing coaching plans
- Personalised results — BMI scoring, health risk flags and a calorie target
- Recommended plan presented once the visitor has real information in hand
- Direct purchase option for visitors ready to join
- Call booking option for visitors who want to speak with Rasan
- CRM dashboard showing captured leads and their quiz answers
- Connection between the Facebook advertising funnel and coaching offers
The results
The quiz became an important part of the Rasan Fitness advertising funnel by helping turn undecided visitors into more useful leads.
Instead of receiving a basic enquiry, Rasan can now see a potential client’s goals, lifestyle and starting point before starting the conversation.
The quiz also gives visitors something valuable in return for answering questions: a personalised coaching recommendation. This makes the lead capture process feel more like getting guidance than filling out a form.
The Facebook advertising results reported in the landing page case study represent the wider funnel rather than the quiz alone, so I wouldn’t attribute those numbers directly to the quiz. What this project changed was the quality and context of the leads entering the funnel.
Common questions
Why does a quiz convert better than a contact form?
A form asks someone to give before they get. A quiz gives first — it asks about their situation and returns something useful, so answering feels like progress rather than a cost. It also does something a form cannot: by the time it asks for contact details, the person has invested several minutes and is far more likely to finish.
What should a lead quiz actually ask?
Only what changes the recommendation, plus what you genuinely need to follow up. Every extra question loses people, so a question that does not affect the outcome is pure cost. The right length is usually shorter than people expect — enough to feel personalised, not so much that it feels like a form in disguise.
Do I need a custom build, or will a quiz plugin do?
A plugin is fine for a simple quiz on an existing site. A custom build earns its keep when the logic matters — matching answers to specific products, routing people down different paths, or feeding results somewhere you control. This one needed all three, and the recommendation logic is the part a generic tool handles worst.
What happens to the leads a quiz collects?
That is the part people forget, and it is where most quizzes fail. A quiz that collects details into an inbox creates work; one that feeds a dashboard where you can see every lead, what they answered and what they were recommended, creates a pipeline. Build the second half or the first half is wasted.
